Inleiding door Michel van Hulten
We zijn niet gewend ergens te kunnen lezen wat er zoals passeert aan corrupt gedrag in Polen en hoe een Poolse wetenschapper dat beschrijft en er zijn opinie bijgeeft.
Dit artikel geschreven door Waldemar Walczak geeft ons die gelegenheid. Zijn Engels is soms wat moeizaam maar wie bereid is daar doorheen te bijten komt terecht in een interessant betoog. Mijn aandacht trok hij onmiddellijk toen ik eenmaal in het schema op p. 263 de woorden ‘legal corruption’ zag (een tot nu toe aan mij onbekend begrip) die hij gebruikte in het kader van een ‘Broad understanding of corruption in practical organization management’. Op p. 271 heeft hij het vervolgens over ‘Personnel policy as a key component of corruption’ en even verder over ‘access to the so called lucrative and highly paid positions’. Kortom genoeg om eens rustig na te lezen, en ook om te kijken wat voor bedragen in zlotys (de Poolse valuta, vijf voor een euro) hij noemt.
